‘The Gypsy King’ is set to face his Ukrainian counterpart twice due to a rematch clause that was included in the fight contract.

A fight between Fury and Joshua has long been speculated and the latter has already faced Usyk twice, losing on both occasions.

But perhaps he’d be ready to face whoever emerges as the champion in next month’s showdown amid a new social media post.

Saudi boxing chief, H.E Alalshikh took to X and posted an picture alongside the former world heavyweight champion.

“We are waiting for the result of Usyk vs Fury,” he said in the caption as he teases the Brit’s potential next big fight.

Joshua and Fury were first set to fight in 2021 but Fury was forced to take on Deontay Wilder in a trilogy bout.

Talks then reignited for a potential clash in December 2022 but this fell through again due to delays in the contracts being signed.

Although the touted all-Brit fight is one that boxing fans have been longing for, Fury is only keeping his sights on Usyk.

“The way I look at it is – Joshua’s a dosser and he’s gotta wait his turn,” he said in his recent press conference ahead of next month’s fight.

However, Fury’s co-promoter Bob Arum has hinted that ‘The Gypsy King’ could still fight AJ over an immediate Usyk rematch before the end of 2024.

Joshua lost his first fight against Usyk via unanimous decision in 2021 before he was defeated by a split decision a year later in Saudi Arabia.

They could therefore be set for a trilogy bout should ‘The Cat’ win his showdown against Fury, which is now just under a month away.

But for now, Joshua will have to wait and see who is crowned as the next undisputed world heavyweight champion before a potential fight against either of the pair.

The 34-year-old was last in the ring in March when he beat former UFC champion Francis Ngannou with a second round KO.
