    4.25: Notable Speech & Valvano – Combination Exacta (NAP – 3pts)
3.20: Gardener & Jupiter Du Gite – Combination Exacta (1.5pts)

Mystic Pearl

Mystic Pearl battled so well to win at Sandown in July to secure the Coral Distaff in listed company for trainer William Haggas.

They were all off the bridle quite far from the finish and all fillies were digging deep, but it was Mystic Pearl who came on the outside who dug the deepest.

She went on to place in the Group 3 fillies Prix de Lieurey at Deauville a month later before going on a winter break before being sent out to Meydan for a couple of races.

She appeared in two Group 2 filly contests in Dubai and wasn’t disgraced on her latest outing behind English Rose, even though she was a 28/1 shot.

She drops into listed company again on what’s only her second outing on the all-weather but has shaped as though she’d really suit the Kempton track, especially if she can hit her stride at the cut just after the final bend.

Notable Speech & Valvano

Notable Speech made it 2-2 at Kempton for trainer Charlie Appleby under William Buick in February.

Most read in Horse Racing

It was an impressive display too waiting until he was just a couple of furlongs out, held up behind his rivals and then when Buick angled for the gap and said go he went past them with ease.

He finished strongly too which all suggests he should take this comfortably, albeit against some other unexposed and promising three-year-olds.

Notable Speech also has an early entry in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket for May, with a price before the off of 66/1, but that could go in if he impresses on this step up in grade.

But Valvano is a 50/1 shot with an early entry into the Derby, and was a powerful winner on debut for Ralph Beckett and may be of interest on his second run of his career, after a break of 171 days.

He didn’t beat any horses that have particularly gone on to suggest he can win such a race yet, but the manner in which he sailed away does point to him being a mighty prospect.

Especially as he’s got the backing of the trainer to boot, with entries for the Dubai Dante Stakes, Derby and Irish Derby.

Gardener & Jupiter Du Gite

Only faces five rivals here and though he’s been unseated and pulled up in two of his five races this season for trainer Olly Murphy, he’s shown bags of ability.

Beating Secret Plan on chase debut and followed that up on his third run over fences at Carlisle beating Caraci Castle.

Was going well on his second run and probably would have won that as well had he not made a mistake to unseat the rider.

Pulled up in testing ground last time out and can continue his progression this time upped to 2m4f which should suit.

Jupiter Du Gite won over this distance at his second attempt over fences winning very nicely over Hymac and Nine Nine Nine.

He should go close in conditions that are set to suit having won on heavy before.

Crypto Force

A top, top horse returns to the track after 560 days.

The Amo Racing-owned Crypto Force showed so much promise as a two-year-old, beating two odds-on favourites.

They weren’t just any horses either they were Auguste Rodin and Adelaide River.

This is his first run since beating the latter in September 2022 and has gone from M D O’Callaghan to John & Thady Gosden to his current trainer Adrian Murray. All without a run in that time.

But he’s back and could be so well-in to win this on his first start for trainer under David Egan.

Going up to 1m2f should bring out even more progression and they won’t have sent him out for this if he wasn’t ready.

Sometimes horses may get a run out if they’re not quite ready in a fact finding mission but this is a Group 3 that they will be aiming to win.

Ryan Moore is basically coming over to Chelmsford on Saturday for one ride despite the three he’s booked for.

And it’s on the Justify colt, Capulet. Who was just beaten in the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket in September, beaten by the very promising Ghostwriter.

Capulet was also just behind Diego Velazquez on his second start and has already achieved a rating of 109 after just three runs.

There’s clearly a lot of power with this horse and it’s backed up by trainer Aidan O’Brien’s plot to send him to Chelmsford for this Class 2.

There’s Cuban Tiger and Orne as main rivals but two that he should easily dispatch of.

It’s an interesting one sending him here but it’s a big prize pool and they must think he can easily win it if they’re coming over from Ireland to take it on.

The colt has numerous Group 1 and 2 entries and looks to have an exciting path this season.
