Michigan football hires Ohio State Tony Alford

As Ohio State fans spent the better part of the last two months celebrating what they called an ‘offseason championship,’ Michigan football has been looking to reload after its actual national championship.

There has been a ton of turnover, from players to coaches leaving, with the biggest being Jim Harbaugh departing for the NFL. While Sherrone Moore’s staff had appeared to be set last week, then the news came that running backs coach Mike Hart wouldn’t be returning to coach at his alma mater in 2024.

The Wolverines moved quickly, however. While there were some names bandied about — Oklahoma RB coach DeMarco Murray, Wisconsin’s Devon Spalding, or even Michigan assistant Denard Robinson — the maize and blue took a swing for the fences and hit a home run, stealing Ohio State’s nine-year running backs coach Tony Alford away from the Buckeyes.

Naturally, social media was abuzz at the move. Here are some of the best reactions from fans and media, alike.
