McLaren CEO Brown signs new long-term deal

McLaren has announced that CEO Zak Brown has signed a new-long term deal with the team, until 2030.

Brown joined the Woking squad as Executive Director of the McLaren Technology Group in 2016, before becoming CEO two years later.

Under his stewardship, McLaren Racing has re-entered IndyCar and also has teams in Formula E and Extreme E, whilst he has also lead the turnaround of the F1 squad, with the team claiming its first victory since 2012 in the 2021 Italian Grand Prix.

“I am thrilled to continue leading McLaren Racing and to be a part of such a historic race team,” explained Brown.

“It is a privilege to work alongside the talented men and women across McLaren Racing’s different race series.

“Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of motorsport and strive for the highest performance on and off the track.”

Paul Walsh, McLaren Group’s Executive chairman added that: “Zak has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities and has been instrumental in driving McLaren Racing forward.

“His extension reflects our confidence in his ability to lead the team to even greater success in the years to come.”
