Pep Guardiola’s side will now travel to Brighton to face the Seagulls on Thursday April 25, with kick-off at 8pm and the game being broadcast on TV.

However, Man City confirmed that the fixture will be moved to Wednesday April 24 should they reach the semi-finals of the Champions League and are requested to play on Tuesday April 30.

Guardiola’s side will only know if they’re in the semi-finals of the competition following their quarter-final clash against Real Madrid on April 17.

That leaves fans less than seven days to re-arrange any travel plans or hotel bookings for Brighton, as well as get themselves ready for a semi-final that could be abroad.

“This is nothing short of a minor disgrace,” one fan wrote. “City’s away game against Brighton rescheduled for Thurs 25th April.

“But if City progress into the CL semis, that could be rearranged again to Weds 24th April with less than a week’s notice. Scandalous decision from all involved.”

Another said: “So a week to reschedule travel and potential sleeping arrangements..”

“What a mess. Delayed announcement yet games still not set in stone,” a third added.

At first, fans were left baffled as to why the Premier League didn’t just put their Brighton fixture on the Wednesday, as it will be if Man City do reach the semis in Europe.

However, they soon noticed that Liverpool face Everton that night, and Arsenal also face Chelsea on the Tuesday – and those games have been picked for TV selection.

Arsenal and Liverpool fans have also been left feeling concerned by the rescheduled fixture list, given all three title contenders could play play 10 games in just one month.

The Gunners and the Reds also face the possibility of games being moved at short notice if they progress in the Champions League and the Europa League respectively.
