Former Tottenham forward Kane got on the end of Joshua Kimmich’s cross to header home in first half stoppage time.

In doing so, he has now scored the most goals of any player in their debut season in the Bundesliga.

Hamburg legend Uwe Seeler was the previous record holder with 30 strikes – which he set in the inaugural Bundesliga season in the 1963/64 campaign.

His strike has also seen Kane break the 30-goal league mark for the first time in his career, having registered 30 Premier League goals in 2017/18 and 2022/23.

And he is now just ten goals shy of equalling Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 Bundesliga strikes, which he set in the 2020/21 term.

Kane was also on hand to notch up his ninth league assist after he laid on for Jamal Musiala to equalise in the 36th minute at Merck-Stadion am Bollenfalltor.

His stunning first half performance was just another reminder to Arsenal of the quality he possesses.

Bayern were drawn against the Gunners in the Champions League quarter-final, which will see the England skipper return to north London next month.

Gunners fans hoped they had seen the last of Kane following his Spurs exit, with the striker a constant thorn in their side over the years.

In 19 games against Mikel Arteta’s men in all competitions, he had found the back of the net on 14 occasions.

Carlton Cole reveals that he thinks Harry Kane is the problem at Bayern Munich at that he ‘cursed’ to not win trophies

And you can be sure he will looking to add to his tally against his former rivals, with the European Cup likely to be Bayern’s only real chance of silverware this campaign.

Despite Bayern struggling for consistency, Kane has been nothing short of sensational in what has been a season of records.

His treble in last week’s 8-1 win over Mainz saw him become the first man to score four hat-tricks in their opening Bundesliga season.

While he was the first player to register a hat-trick in their first Der Klassiker outing.

He even set a new German top-flight record by finding the back of the net 17 times in his opening 11 outings.
