Teenage Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is also set to be handed a full debut after an impressive cameo off the bench in Saturday’s defeat at home to Brazil.

Aston Villa defender Konsa is expected to deputise at right-back following Kyle Walker’s withdrawal from the squad.

Meanwhile Toney will be given the chance to audition for the role of Harry Kane’s understudy at this summer’s Euros.

Other players expecting to get the nod include West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen and Brighton centre-back Lewis Dunk.

Southgate is set to ring the changes ahead of England’s friendly against, something he has already stated he has been forced into doing.

In his press conference on Monday, the Three Lions boss admitted he had never seen an injury crisis with Walker, Kane, Harry Maguire, Bukayo Saka and Sam Johnstone all pulling out.

They have all been added to a list of absentees including Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James, Tyrone Mings, Levi Colwill, Marc Guehi, Luke Shaw, Jack Grealish and Callum Wilson.

“It’s an incredible number unavailable to us,” Southgate said.

“I haven’t experienced that before. But it means there’s opportunities for other people.

“We saw against Brazil players step up and take those opportunities which is great for us as well.”

England lost 1-0 to Brazil at Wembley on Saturday night with Ollie Watkins and Anthony Gordon trying to make an impression on Southgate.

Wembley will again play host on Tuesday night as the Three Lions look to garner some momentum ahead of the Euros this summer.

Declan Rice will win his 50th cap for England and has been told he will captain his country as a mark of respect.

“On my 50th cap, to walk out at Wembley in front of my family and friends, it is a great honour – I’m a bit speechless,” Rice remarked.

“It is a pinch-me moment, it will be an honour. I was absolutely lost for words when [manager Gareth Southgate] said to me I was going to be captain.”
