Fans surprised to learn that Kobbie Mainoo’s brother was on Love Island

Kobbie Mainoo may be on his way to footballing stardom, but his brother is a celebrity in his own right.

In fact, Mainoo’s brother – Jordan Mainoo-Hames – made his name starring on hit TV show, Love Island, back in 2019.

While his time on the show was fleeting, Mainoo-Hames is now working in fashion as a model for brands including Vogue and Louis Vuitton.

The family link was revealed from an old social media post from Jordan about Kobbie, which read: “Proud big bro moment [for real].”

After discovering their link, fans on social media were pretty surprised.

One wrote: “Wow family of stars.”

Another said: “Kobbie Mainoo being Jordan Hames’ brother was not what I expected to find out today.”

A third said: “C’mon don’t joke with me mate…”

Meanwhile a fourth wrote: “Their parents must have been basketball fans for naming their kids Kobbie and Jordan.”

While Mainoo-Hames is well known among reality TV fans, the young Man United talent will be hoping to make a name of his own.

At just 18, Mainoo has forced his way into Manchester United’s first team this season, making 23 appearances for Erik ten Hag’s side.

But as well as now being a regular starter, the 18-year-old has been rewarded with a call-up to England’s senior national squad.
