Some Burnley fans were forced to leave their seats during their clash against Wolves due to an issue with the roof.

A piece of metal could be seen hanging from the roof above a section of the Jimmy McIlroy Stand at Turf Moor.

Fans were therefore evacuated from their seats during the first-half of the match and were able to watch the game in the fan zone.

On their X account, Burnley said: “Burnley fans are in the process of being moved from a section of the Jimmy McIlroy stand due to current safety concerns with the roof.

“We thank supporters for their co-operation and patience while we do this.”

Tape was seen on the edge of the rows where the affected seats are as police and stewards helped to clear the area.

The Burnley Express also reported that a PA announcement confirmed the block in question would remain shut for the rest of the game.

Jacob Bruun Larsen opened the scoring for Burnley but Wolves wing-back Rayan Ait-Nouri scored on the stroke of half-time to ensure it was 1-1 at the break.

Both sides have very different expectations for the rest of the season, with both needing crucial points for their respective aims.

Burnley have been competing in a relegation battle for much of the season and started the day four points adrift of safety in 19th.

Wolves on the other hand could very well find themselves qualifying for European football as they edge towards the top seven.

Gary O’Neil’s side edged a 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture but the game at Turf Moor proved to finish even in a 1-1 draw.

Burnley will certainly feel as though they should have won all three points as they dominated in terms of shots on goal.

However, they will be relieved to have not fallen to another defeat, with the point also slightly boosting Wolves’ European chances.
