2025 5-star RB Jordon Davison visit news

While you may peruse social media and hear Ohio State fans claim that Tony Alford was not a good recruiter, his track record proves otherwise. And the immediate attention he’s getting after defecting from Columbus to Ann Arbor is also making something of a statement.

Recruits across the country are reacting strongly to the news (subscription required) that Alford has joined Michigan football and according to Maize & Blue Review’s Josh Henschke, it has some who weren’t necessarily paying much attention to the Wolverines suddenly looking to potentially visit.

According to Henschke, 2025 Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei five-star running back Jordon Davison is so impressed with Alford and his move up north that he’s strongly considering a visit to campus to see what all the hullabaloo is about.

Davison hadn’t appeared to give Michigan much interest beforehand. Though Texas has been considered the favorite according to some outlets, OSU was in the mix (if not the favorite), along with USC and Georgia.

Rivals has Davison listed as the No. 15 player in the country, regardless of position, and the nation’s top-ranked running back. If Michigan can, in fact, get him to campus, that would go a long way — considering his preexisting relationship with Alford, toward getting him to see himself wearing a winged helmet.
