2024 F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix weather forecast

To the relief of the paddock, warm weather is forecast across the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which just like in Bahrain gets underway on Thursday.

Compared to the surprisingly chilly weather conditions in Bahrain for the season-opener, traditional high temperatures are expected at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

Wind was another issue at the Bahrain International Circuit, but that also won’t be a concern for the 20 drivers despite being next to the Red Sea.

High track temperature

According to our friends at WeerOnline.com, the temperature throughout the second round of the 2024 season will range from 27 to 30 degrees Celsius during sunlight hours.

It won’t decrease too considerably in the evenings either, with the race on Saturday currently forecast to start when the air temperature is a warm 26 degrees Celsius. By the conclusion of the race, this is only expected to drop to 24 degrees Celsius.

With the first and third practice sessions taking place during the afternoon hours, the drivers will experience the hottest conditions during these sessions.

The track surface will also be at its highest in these sessions, with 60 degrees Celsius the current forecast. This will only drop by a few degrees ahead of the start of the race on Saturday.

In terms of wind, that won’t be a concern, nor will sand. A moderate wind from the northwest to west will be present during the Grand Prix. As the Red Sea is to the west of the track, it means sand won’t be blowing across the circuit.
